01 — The brief

Where this one came from.

Before EDUS Media, the studio published as Near Me Web Designs: a Rancho Cucamonga marketing site with services, a portfolio, and a contact page.

The export still uses the old visual system — Geist, violet on white, a conventional marketing layout — which is exactly why it stays in the portfolio. It shows the starting point, not another invented client.

02 — The approach

Three decisions that shaped the build.

  1. 01

Served as pages, not a second app

The old Next.js export expected to live at the domain root. It is republished under /archive/ so its assets do not collide with this site, and each link is a full page load.

  2. 02

    Contact identity replaced

The archive still says Near Me Web Designs and Rancho Cucamonga. The person's name, email address, and phone number are placeholders, and the old analytics container is not loaded.

  3. 03

Kept out of the search index

Every archived page is noindex, and robots.txt disallows /archive/. The case study is the page we want found. The old site is a reference, not a duplicate.

03 — Identity system

Typography

Body
Geist

The previous site used Geist for both headings and body, with Geist Mono for small labels — a conventional product-marketing pairing, unlike the five demonstration builds.

Built

  • Home, about, portfolio, services, and contact as static pages
  • Four service pages from the previous site
  • Contact name, email, and phone replaced with placeholders
  • Analytics container removed
  • noindex on every archived page
