Exceptional Designs
for Us.
The 'us' is deliberate. This studio exists for the businesses on the same street as it — the ones a traditional agency prices out before the first meeting.

The name
Most studio names are about the studio.
The studio is EDUS Media. EDUS stands for Exceptional Designs for Us. Not “for you” — the preposition matters. A web studio that depends on local businesses doing well is a participant in the same economy, not a vendor selling into it.
In practice that shapes unglamorous decisions. It is why pricing is published rather than quoted. It is why we will tell a client that their existing site needs three days of fixes instead of the rebuild they came in asking for, even though the rebuild is the bigger invoice. And it is why support response times are written into the agreement instead of promised in a sales call and forgotten by month three.
The trade-off is real: we are small, we say no to work regularly, and we do not maintain a sales team to chase you. If you want a studio with an account manager and a quarterly strategy deck, we are genuinely the wrong choice.
How we work
Six principles we will be
held to in writing.
Not values on a wall. Each of these is something you can check us against during a project, and complain about if we fail.
- 01
The price goes on the website
Hiding pricing behind a form is a tactic for extracting a budget before quoting against it. We publish numbers so you can disqualify us in thirty seconds if we are too expensive.
- 02
Guarantees must cost us something
Our response times are contractual, and missing one means that month is free. A promise with no penalty is marketing copy.
- 03
You hold every credential
Domain, hosting, analytics, repository — all in your name from day one. Some studios treat access as retention leverage. We would rather you stay because the work is good.
- 04
Scope down, not up
When a budget does not reach the brief, the honest move is to cut scope, not to upsell financing. Sometimes the right recommendation is three days of fixes instead of a rebuild.
- 05
Say what we are bad at
We do not do brand identity, paid media, photography or large custom applications. Naming the boundary early saves everyone a disappointing month.
- 06
Build it to outlast us
Standard HTML, CSS and a mainstream framework. No proprietary builder, no plugin tower, nothing that needs us specifically to keep working in five years.
The short version
“A good website should not be a luxury purchase for a business doing honest work on a normal street. That is the whole premise. Everything else is logistics.”
Who we are for
A good fit
- An established local business with a site that is actively costing you work
- A new business that needs to look credible on a real budget
- A nonprofit or community organisation where every dollar is scrutinised
- Anyone who wants to understand and own what they are paying for
- A business whose owner will actually be in the room for decisions
A bad fit
- You need a full brand identity built from nothing
- You want a dedicated account manager and weekly status meetings
- You are looking for guaranteed first-page rankings
- The project needs a custom backend and a product team
- Decisions have to pass through a committee of six
Everything else
Frequently asked, fully answered.
Why are your prices lower than other studios?
No office lease, no account managers, and no sales team taking a cut. You talk to the person building your site. We also reuse a mature internal design system instead of starting from zero every time, which removes a week of work without removing any craft.
What does 'guaranteed support' actually mean?
Response times are written into the service agreement, not implied in a sales call. Four business hours for a standard request, one hour for a site that is down. If we miss it, that month is free. The guarantee is only worth something if it costs us when we fail.
Do I own the website when you are finished?
Completely. The code, the domain, the hosting account, the analytics property and the repository are all in your name from the start. There is no proprietary builder you have to keep paying for and no part of the site you need our permission to change.
Are the portfolio sites real client work?
They are demonstration builds, and we label them as such everywhere. Each one is a complete, working site you can click through rather than a screenshot — which tells you considerably more about how we build than a blurred logo wall would.
What do you need from me to start?
An hour for a kickoff conversation, whatever logo and photography you already have, and a named person who can approve decisions. We write the launch copy with you if you do not have it. Most delays come from waiting on content, so we plan for that from day one.
How long does a project take?
Two weeks for a one-page site, three to four for a multi-page site, four to six for a storefront. Those are calendar weeks assuming feedback comes back within two business days. We tell you the critical path at kickoff so you can see what your decisions are holding up.
What if I already have a website?
We audit it first. Sometimes the honest answer is that your existing site needs three days of fixes rather than a rebuild, and we will tell you that even though it is the smaller invoice. If we do rebuild, we map every old URL to a new one so you keep your search rankings.
Do you work with businesses outside your area?
Yes. The studio is community-focused in how it prices and communicates, not in who it will take on. Remote projects run the same way — the only difference is that the kickoff happens on a video call instead of across a counter.
Next step
Let's talk about your site.
An hour on a call, an honest answer about what you need, and a fixed price before you commit to anything. If a rebuild is the wrong move for you, we will say so.
